Darley Park rescue: warning after urban explorers get stuck in storm culvert in a DINGHY

A Derby fire chief has issued a warning to urban explorers after a man became stuck in a storm culvert in Darley Park yesterday.
Firefighters had to rescue a man who had travelled along a storm culvert, which flows beneath the city, in a rubber dinghy which became punctured – leaving the explorer stranded near to Derby Rowing Club.
The Markeaton Interceptor Storm Relief Culvert was opened in 1938 as a response to flooding in 1931 and 1932. It stretches for 1.4 miles beneath the city, from the brook in Markeaton Park to an outlet in Darley Park.
