Dance review: The Nutcracker by the Royal Ballet
 

I struggle not to suspend disbelief but faced with the Royal Ballet’s latest revival of Peter Wright’s 1984 production, coinciding with his 90th birthday, all I can do is love every minute of it. 
The setting is a seasonal party of well heeled friends in a mansion’s drawing room. During the grown ups’ stately dancing, daughter Clara emerges. Slightly built and with a natural “look at me” stage presence, Francesca Hayward, apparently, has everything. She is a pure product of the Royal Ballet system.
