Dan Carden slams Theresa May's voting record on gay rights as he looks forward to Pride weekend



New Walton MP Dan Carden has slammed Theresa May’s voting record on gay rights as he looks forward to his first Pride weekend as a LGBT city Member of Parliament.
The 30-year-old - who won a landslide victory in Walton in June - said the Prime Minister has been on the “wrong side of the argument” on gay issues in the past and said he will be proud to represent Labour at this weekend’s event.
Mrs May opposed letting gay couples adopt children in 2002 and in 1998 voted against reducing the age of consent for gay people from 18 to 16.
