DAILY BRIEFING: RBS bosses deny destroying customers' businesses for profit



RBS DENIAL Bosses at Royal Bank of Scotland have insisted the lender did not seek to profit by driving firms to the wall during the financial crisis.
Yesterday, it emerged that Scottish police were collecting evidence about claims that it pushed struggling firms into administration before pocketing their assets, and there were calls for London investigators to do the same.
But RBS chairman Sir Howard Davies hit back at claims of widespread wrongdoing, arguing that there was no systematic effort to sink good businesses.
