A Stockport dad who lost both of his legs and part of his hand after contracting a life-threatening bug, is getting ready to jump out of a plane for charity.
Matthew Parkes, 39, was on holiday in Majorca last year when he suddenly fell ill – and when his condition deteriorated, he was left fighting for his life .
The account manager was later diagnosed with sepsis – a potentially fatal blood poisoning condition which is usually triggered by an infection or injury.
He had to have both of his legs and part of his hand amputated, after being in an induced coma for six weeks .
