Dad's cancer ordeal inspires Tamworth man to take on marathon



"EXCITED and scared" is how a Tamworth man feels after signing up to run this year's London marathon in memory of his father who died of cancer.
Nigel Palin, who has worked at Prentice furniture for more than 18 years, has built his running up to 20 miles as he looks to take on the gruelling challenge on Sunday (April 23).
So far he has raised more than £2,700 for his chosen charity of children with Cancer UK and spoke to the Herald about his preparations and expectations on the day.
