Cyclist airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital after suffering cardiac arrest

An elderly man is fighting for his life after coming off his bicycle outside some town shops.
Paramedics were called to the scene in Wallbridge Drive, Leek, at 1.39pm.
The man, believed in his 70s, suffered a cardiac and was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called reports of cyclist who had fallen from his bike. The patient was male and was in cardiac arrest when we arrived.
