Customs swoops on north Liverpool Chinese supermarket as part of £15m tax fraud investigation
 

A Chinese supermarket in north Liverpool was raided as part of an investigation into a suspected £15 million tax fraud.
HM Revenue and Customs’ officers swooped on WH Lung Supermarket, off Blackstone Street in Vauxhall , yesterday morning. Several customs officers were seen parking up outside the supermarket and going in and out.
HMRC have now said the raid was part of an investigation into a suspected £15 million tax fraud involving restaurants and wholesalers believed to be laundering money using offshore accounts and companies.
