Cue Card to sidestep King George VI Chase as trainer Colin Tizzard looks to keep 11-year-old fresh for possible tilt at Ascot Chase in Spring



Cue Card, winner of the King George VI Chase in 2015 and twice runner-up including to stablemate Thistlecrack last year, is set to sidestep this year's Boxing Day race at Kempton.
Trainer Colin Tizzard said that while the 11-year-old had emerged well from his second to Bristol De Mai in gruelling conditions at Haydock on Saturday.
He favoured keeping Cue Card fresh for Spring, possibly via the Ascot Chase in February that he has won twice before.
