Crossrail building workers set to protest



CONSTRUCTION workers on the Crossrail project plan to stage a demonstration tomorrow in a dispute over missed payments, their union announced yesterday.
Workers on the new railway line through London complain that a computerised system used by contractors is not registering all their work, leaving them out of pocket.
An official with construction union Ucatt said a fingerprint recognition system used to log working hours was not operating properly, leading to some workers losing out on payment for an entire shift.
