Cross Heath update: Man, 27, arrested after reports of shots being fired



Police have arrested a man after armed officers cordoned off a street and urged residents to stay indoors.
They are questioning a 27-year-old Newcastle man on suspicion of common assault.
The arrest comes after police were called to reports of shots being fired in Wilton Street, Cross Heath, at 10.20am today.
A man visiting an address in Wilton Street suffered an arm injury, although he did not require medical attention.
Armed police, sniffer dogs and the force helicopter were called out to try to find the gunman.
