Cross City rail line suspended near Birmingham New Street



Rail passengers are facing major disruption through the Midlands this afternoon after part of the Cross City line was blocked.
Overhead wiring problems between Gravelly Hill and Four Oaks mean there are no trains running between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley.
London Midland services have been suspended with tickets being accepted on local bus routes and other rail operators.
A spokesperson for London Midland said the problem was caused by a "loss of power to overhead wires."
"Investigations into the cause are ongoing."
