Cristiano Ronaldo visits players of boyhood club Sporting Lisbon - the team he left for Manchester United in 2003 - ahead of their Europa League clash at Atletico Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo surprised Sporting Lisbon's players with a visit to their hotel in Madrid as they gear up to take on Atletico Madrid in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Ronaldo was in good spirits after Real Madrid's comfortable 3-0 win at Juventus on Tuesday night and came to offer his support to former team Sporting ahead of their match with Madrid rivals Atletico.
Sporting's players and coaching staff will be hoping his rich vein of form can rub off on them as they talked and took photos with the Portuguese star while preparing for the match.
