Crimewatch appeal brings new leads for unsolved Dorothy Leyden murder



Police have been given the names of two possible suspects for the murder of a teenager in Manchester 45 years ago.
Dorothy Leyden was raped and bludgeoned with a brick on April 25th 1971.
A few hours earlier the 17-year-old had been in the front row of a concert by Tamla Motown star, Jimmy Ruffin, at the Golden Garter in Wythenshawe .
The American soul singer, who had a string of hits, including ‘What Becomes of The Broken Hearted’ had wiped his brow with a towel during the show and threw it into the audience – where it was caught by Dorothy.
