Crash pair in court after insurance claim
 

A man and woman have admitted intending to pervert the course of justice following a road crash at Gosforth.
Gemma Armfield, 31, and Lyndon Mawson, 34, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where they each admitted a charge of tending or intending to pervert the course of justice between March 10 and June 1 this year.
The offence was said to have been committed as police and an insurer were informed that Mawson was the driver of a vehicle which had been involved in a collision. In fact, Armfield was behind the wheel.
