Crackdown in Amber Valley as number of abandoned vehicles doubles in year
 

Almost 100 vehicles have been abandoned in Amber Valley this year - and one owner has been ordered to pay more than £1,200 for dumping a burger van in an industrial estate.
Amber Valley Borough Council says its officers have recorded 92 incidents, compared with 45 during the same period last year.
Valentin Pirvan received fines and costs of more than £1,200 after he abandoned a burger van in Somercotes.
