Couple 'saved by fire alarm' after fish tank sets house alight at 1am
 

A couple escaped a house fire caused by their fish tank in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews received a call at 1.20am from the house in Castleton Road, Seaton Carew.
Crew manager Barry Edwards said: “We turned up to the scene at 1.30am this morning.
“The fire was contained quite quickly. A lot of it was smoke damage, which took some time to clear.
“It was caused by a fish tank, but it’s still not clear if it was the UV light or the pump that led to the fire.
“There was a lot of wiring going to this saltwater aquatic tank.
