Councillors to press for Orgreave public inquiry



COUNCILLORS in Bradford are to consider calling for a public inquiry into the police attack on miners at Orgreave in South Yorkshire in 1984.
Peaceful, picketing miners striking to defend their industry, jobs and communities were brutally attacked by police on horseback and on foot.
The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign has been campaigning for a public inquiry into the attack for four years.
The motion will be debated at a Bradford Council meeting on Tuesday.
