Councillor accuses NHS boss Jane Hawkard of 'smirking' during minor injuries debate



A health boss came under attack from an angry councillor after she was accused of "smirking" while the councillor outlined fears over closures of minor injuries units (MIUs).
Councillor Lyn Healing had been invited to the health scrutiny sub-committee at East Riding Council to discuss plans which could lead to the closure of MIUs in Hornsea, Withernsea and Driffield.
The councillor, representing South East Holderness for the ruling Conservative Group, outlined concerns from residents in Withernsea to members of East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group, sitting only feet away.... read more
