Council reveal cost of clearing up after travellers on John Leggott site



THE cost of clearing up the mess left behind by travellers in Scunthorpe has been revealed.
Travellers who were pitched up on land next to West Common Lane left on Monday (October 10), leaving behind a caravan, waste and rubble.
The travellers parked up near a John Leggott College car park on September 29 and only left Monday night.
North Lincolnshire Council said it will cost "thousands" of taxpayers' money to clear up the site – an operation which is starting tomorrow (Friday, October 14).
The local authority also said they are looking at ways to restrict access to the site.
