Council 'rejects' £1.1m Derby Wholesale Market offer which could have protected 50 jobs
 

Businessmen claim the city council has turned down a plan which could have secured the future of eight firms and 50 jobs in Derby.
The fate of the Derby Wholesale Market site off Chequers Road has been in doubt since the council said it wanted to demolish the buildings on the site and the adjoining Cattle Market and sell off the land. The Cattle Market has now been shut but the Wholesale Market site remains open.
