Council pushes through plans to create Greater Lincolnshire Authority and elected Mayor



Councillors last night passed plans to create a Greater Lincolnshire Authority.
At a full council meeting on Thursday (September 29), councillors debated and voted through plans that for a combined mayoral authority in Lincolnshire.
The plans gave North Lincolnshire Council's consent as one of the 10 constituent authorities in the greater Lincolnshire area.
The support for the plans will now initiate the process for a mayoral election on May 4, 2017.
Cllr Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, described the plans as "bold and ambitious."
