Council moves to ease Berwick’s parking problem
 

A formal planning application has been lodged to convert Berwick’s coach park back into a car park.
The coach park never proved popular so Northumberland Council Council now wants to create 22 new free car-parking spaces in the town centre.
To help with the increasing popularity of electric cars, a vehicle charging point is also being considered.
With the Chapel Street facility in line to be converted, a long-stay coach parking facility is now under construction at the Swan Centre, with work expected to last three weeks. Extra signage will also be provided to direct coaches to it.
