Jeremy Corbyn has clearly taken a lesson from his second thumping victory in a Labour leadership election: Fortune favours the bold.
He knows that the Labour MPs who want him out – and the Tories who jeer at him during Prime Minister’s Questions – think of him as a radical socialist.
Rather than try and shake off this reputation and make an appeal for the centre ground that would convince nobody, Mr Corbyn stood on the Liverpool conference stage and delivered a speech that glowed red – and it looked as if he loved every minute of it.
