Controversial £12m Conwy Falls hydro electric scheme withdrawn
 

Plans to build a £12 million hydro-electric scheme in the Snowdonia National Park have been withdrawn for now but campaigners have vowed to fight any bid that resurfaces.
Energy multinational RWE Innogy Renewables UK pulled its controversial planning application to build on the River Conwy.
Conservationists in the Snowdonia Society are relieved that the immediate threat to the Conwy Falls and Fairy Glen has receded but they are concerned that a new application will be submitted.
