Consumer confidence in the UK economy hits highest level since 2014 despite Brexit fears, says Barclaycard



Consumer confidence in the British economy has climbed to its highest level for over two years, data showed today, as Brexit fears look to be shrugged aside.
Forty eight per cent of Britons felt upbeat about the economy last month, compared to 47 per cent who did not and 5 per cent who weren't sure, according to the latest consumer spending report from Barclaycard.
Ahead of the EU referendum in June, only 34 per cent of Britons said they felt confident about the state of the country's economy.
