ConocoPhillips fails in bid to get £3m Lincolnshire coast gas leak fine reduced



A company fined after gas leaks on a platform off the Lincolnshire coast put 66 workers' lives in danger has failed in a bid to get its £3 million fine reduced.
ConocoPhillips Limited is the UK subsidiary of a US energy corporation, which is the 'largest company of its kind in the world', Lord Justice Treacy told London's Appeal Court.
The oil and gas exploration and production company, based in Portman Street, Marylebone, admitted three breaches of the Offshore Installations (Prevention of Fire and Explosion, and Emergency Response) Regulations 1995.
