Confusion over Derby UKIP councillor's 'defection' to Labour
 

Confusion reigns at Derby City Council over a Labour announcement that a UKIP had defected.
A release issued by Labour said Derwent councillor Bill Wright was joining Labour, which would increase Labour's majority at Derby City Council to two seats. He was quoted as saying he believed he could achieve more with Labour.
But, soon afterwards, Derby UKIP leader Alan Graves said Mr Wright was staying put. And then Mr Wright himself said he was not joining Labour and was committed to UKIP.
