Comolli: I was sacked by Liverpool FC because I 'wasted money' on Henderson
 

Liverpool 's former director of football Damien Comolli claims he was sacked by the club because he had "wasted money" on buying Jordan Henderson .
The Frenchman was dismissed in April 2012 as Fenway Sports Group were apparently unhappy about their return after investing millions of pounds in players report the Liverpool Echo .
Apart from the £16m deal to sign Henderson from Sunderland , Comolli also oversaw the purchases of Stewart Downing (£20m), Andy Carroll (£35m) and Charlie Adam (£7m).
