Colin Montgomerie fears a Brookline repeat with partisan Hazeltine crowd



Former Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie fears the American Ryder Cup crowd at Hazeltine could be as vitriolic as the one in Brookline in 1999, when he was subjected to unacceptable personal abuse.
‘There’s the potential, the Americans need to win this one,’ said Montgomerie, who received such a hostile reception from the Brookline hecklers that his father James left the course because he was so upset.
