Closures at Wrexham Maelor Hospital



Two day case theatres and two endoscopy suites have been temporarily closed at the Wrexham Maleor Hospital after “inconsistencies” in air ventilation were detected.
Health chiefs said they were trying to reduce any impact on the number of patients being treated.
They insisted there was no evidence of concerns over recent surgery or procedures in the units.
Day case theatres are for less serious surgery where a patient can leave the same day.
Endoscopy units perform medical procedures through cameras inserted into the body.
