The tour operator’s chief executive Peter Fankhauser said despite a “difficult year for tourism” after terrorist attacks in Europe and a failed coup in Turkey, its UK and Scandinavian businesses had performed better than expected. 
Annual pre-tax profit fell from £50million to £42million on broadly flat revenue of £7.81million as it switched to providing more holidays in Spain when demand for the likes of Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia waned.
