The baby goods retailer fell £800,000 into the red compared with a £5.8million profit last time, as its UK same-store sales dropped 0.7 per cent.
Like-for-like sales in its international business, which generates nearly two thirds of turnover, were down 2.9 per cent.
Chief executive Mark Newton-Jones said it revamped 60 per cent of its UK stores and upgraded distribution.
But he added: “Unseasonal spring/summer weather meant higher markdown, while our warehouse infrastructure change meant a reduced flow of product for eight weeks and an increase in operational costs as systems bedded in.”... read more
