CITY DIARY: Disgraced ex-Barclays chief Bob Diamond steps in as interim chairman of his African banking firm



Disgraced ex-Barclays chief Bob Diamond has had to step in as interim chairman of his African banking firm Atlas Mara, following the departure of former Ecobank boss Arnold Ekpe. 
Bob's venture has hardly set the continent ablaze since launching three years ago. Shares have dropped 68 per cent  since then. 
Last year it lost £6million. Of his prospects, he remarks pluckily: 'This isn't five-minute rice.' Not for nothing was Diamond, 65, known at Barclays as 'The Bobtimist.'
