CITY DIARY: Axa's blow-dried Parisian Count Henri de Castries rules himself out of HSBC chairman job



Axa's impeccably-connected boss Henri de Castries has let it be known he won't be in the running for chairman of HSBC when Douglas Flint departs next year. 
The blow-dried Parisian Count, 62, is now keen to pursue a political career after next year's French presidential elections. 
Was crafty Henri getting his excuses in early? I'm told the bank ruled out offering him the post months ago.
