Churches across Merseyside urged to be vigilant after spate of raids
 

Churches across Merseyside are being warned to be vigilant after a spate of thefts and vandal attacks targeting religious buildings.
Worshippers were left shocked this week after two specially-designed glasses were smashed and money stolen after a raid on Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral.
It has since emerged six churches in Southport have also been targeted in recent weeks, sparking concern other places of worship could be at risk.
Police are probing the incident at the Metropolitan Cathedral after a burglar broke in to the iconic building on Wednesday.
