Child locked in nursery's outdoor playhouse only noticed missing when parent turned up
 

A child was locked in an outdoor playhouse for two hours at a nursery.
Staff only noticed that the tot was missing when a parent arrived to collect him from the Durham University Day Nursery.
Ofsted inspectors were called to the nursery on Pelaw Leases Lane to reports that the child had been left outside in the playhouse for a “considerable period of time”.
The report by inspectors said: “We carried out an unannounced visit to the premises and found that a child had been left in the outdoor area for approximately two hours and was not missed until a parent came to collect him.
