Cheshire shoppers advised to be vigilant following supermarket distraction thefts
 

Police are reminding shoppers to be vigilant following further reports of sophisticated distraction-type thefts in Cheshire supermarkets.
Cheshire Police says offenders, who watch shoppers enter their pin numbers into chip and pin devices at the checkout, are mainly targeting older people who are shopping at the supermarket.
The thieves are believed to strike once the shoppers have loaded their shopping in the car and have placed their handbag on the passenger seat.
