Chef at top London hotel restaurant thought mouse droppings were spices
 

A chef at a hotel restaurant frequented by the stars says he thought mouse droppings were actually spices for cooking, a court has heard.
Sanctum Soho Hotel’s restaurant was raided by inspectors who saw a mouse run across the kitchen and said it smelt of urine.
They found droppings in food containers and on shelves at the four star hotel. They also had a nest in the staff room.
Inspectors found packs of gnawed biscuits, mouldy fruit, droppings on food and in bags of sugar and ground almonds at the hotel near Carnaby Street in central London.
