Ched Evans trial: Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner slams evidence of woman's sexual past
 

Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner Vera Baird has slammed the use of the alleged victim’s sexual past as evidence in Ched Evans’ rape trial.
The 27-year-old strike who plays for Chesterfield was cleared of rape at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday (October 14).
The Wales international striker was initially found guilty in 2012, and served half of a five-year prison sentence before his conviction was quashed in April on appeal.
