Chakrabarti new legal chief in Labour reshuffle



JEREMY CORBYN promoted four women last night as he kicked off a reshuffle of his top team, making former Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti his legal chief.
Baroness Chakrabarti, who was elevated to the House of Lords in August, said it was “an enormous privilege” to take up the post of shadow attorney general.
Sarah Champion was made shadow women and equalities minister, while Diane Abbott was appointed to replace Andy Burnham — who is focussing on his bid to become Manchester mayor — as shadow home secretary.
