Cash machine blown out of wall with explosives in early hours



A cash machine was blown out of a wall with explosives in St Helens in the early hours of this morning.
At about 3.20am three men were spotted at McColl’s newsagents, Fleet Lane, trying to break in through the front shutters.
Police believe the group then detonated explosives to gain access to the ATM - although it is unclear what was stolen.
The shop front was damaged during the incident although fortunately nobody was injured.
The robbers then reportedly made their getaway in a silver Honda Civic. Police said a search is ongoing for the getaway car.
