Carlisle sex offender who disappeared is jailed
 

A convicted sex offender who disappeared for nearly a year without telling the police where he was has been jailed.
Kenneth Burgess, 48, who was given a 32-month jail sentence in 2011 for a serious sex offence, should have told police whenever he moved because his name has been put on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.
Carlisle's Rickergate magistrates' court heard that he lost his flat in Warwick Road in August 2015 because of his drink problem.
