Carlisle churchgoers want rules relaxed after being hit with parking tickets
 

Members of a Carlisle congregation are calling on parking restrictions around a church to be relaxed – so that they can attend services in full.
Regulars at St Cuthbert’s Church, on Blackfriars Street, were surprised to find that they had been issued with parking tickets after leaving a service recently.
Motorists are allowed to park outside the church for a short time on Sundays but there are restrictions in place.
A consultation had taken place about altering parking restrictions in parts of the city centre – known as Zone C – but a final decision is yet to be made.
