Froch has not boxed since he beat George Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium in May 2014 and retired in July last year.
But promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that Froch could return to the ring to fight unbeaten Golovkin.
Hearn met with the Kazakhstani's manager Thomas Loeffler in Monte Carlo to discuss the possibility of Golovkin v Froch.
“Golovkin is going to fight in March, June in Kazakhstan and then he wants to box in England in November," Hearn told The Sun.
“Could it be Froch? He’s fit enough, isn’t he.”
