Caravan owners staged court protest in council rates dispute



Back in October 1976, the Derby Telegraph carried a front page lead about a protest by caravan owners at a Lincolnshire court.
More than 500 owners of holiday caravans along the Lincolnshire coast – many of them from Derbyshire – staged a demonstration and forced the adjournment of a court hearing against them for non-payment of the previous year's rates.
According to the story, the protest had been arranged by the Derby-founded National Association of Caravan Owners (NACO).
