Car park plans in pipeline
A PLANNING application has been submitted for a new car park in Oldham town centre to replace the one demolished two months ago.
The plan is to build a new car park, complete with payment machines, signs and barriers.
The proposal will go before the planning committee in the near future.
The Hobson Street car park was demolished via a controlled explosion on July 17, resulting in a loud bang heard across the borough.
The council-owned car park had been closed since December 2014, when an inspection found serious structural damage and the building was declared unsafe for use.
