Captain Scooby runs his 170th race as Ayr hosts Thursday meeting
 

We bid farewell to a highly successful Flat season at Ayr today (Thursday) with a bumper eight race card featuring an incredible 97 runners.
And we have some real characters among the horses running. Captain Scooby, who contests the Haig Club Clubman Handicap at 2.40pm, will be running for an incredible 170th time and the 10th time at Ayr where he has won twice including in May of this year.
One of his opponents is Jim Goldie’s Goninodaethat who has won six times at the Craigie track.
