Cancer fears see sports clubs closing or suspending artificial football pitches in Holland
 

Sports clubs in Holland have been closing their artificial football pitches after claims that they are a cancer risk.
Around 30 clubs have stopped locals from using the pitches amid fears that the rubber granules used in the 3G surfaces present a danger to health.
The Hague Government has ordered an immediate investigation following a television documentary on the issue.
Speaking to the Zembla television programme, a toxicology professor at Utrecht University claimed that people should avoid using the surfaces until potential risks are proved harmless.
