Cains bosses vow to bring iconic brewery building back to life



The owners of the Cains brewery have vowed to bring the empty redbrick landmark back to life – and say delayed plans for a £150m Brewery Village are still on track.
Cains won planning permission in 2013 for an ambitious scheme that included a boutique hotel, apartments, a superstore and a craft brewery created at the site in Stanhope Street in the Baltic Triangle.
Work has not yet started and the historic listed brewery building remains largely empty and in need of repair.
No Cains beers have been brewed since 2013, when the brewery closed down.
